Who uses Directual and why?
What can be built on the platform?
🇬🇧
Good news, everyone! Our no-code platform now sports new features and integrations capable of making your projects even better. Personally. We are really happy with the progress made—it was your feedback that nudged us in the right direction. Alright, enough chatter, let’s see what’s on the menu:
By popular request, now we have a new Kanban component you can use in our drag-and-drop app builder. It’s really easy to configure and can be used for anything, like a sales funnel, HR processes, project management, inventory control and so much more. You can even introduce role-based access control!
What you see at the moment of this post is not all our Kanban component will be capable of: we’ve got big plans for this bad boy. Stay tuned!
A quality of life feature that we’re sure you’ll like. Add action buttons in one click to your card or kanban components.
The card looks this way:
This integration we bet you are excited about the most. If not, here’s an explanation of why you should:
Socket.io is an event-driven library extremely useful for real-time web apps in terms of notifications, interactive UI, and even messengers. Basically it’s an interface push message straight from your Directual scenario! A part of knowing how to build an app relies on how it will communicate, and Socket.io fits really well into the process.
Basically this component enables bi-directual (sorry, couldn’t resist) bi-directional communication between a server and a web client, running client-side and server-side. No more relying on synced scenarios to get things done—now it’s faster, cheaper, and cooler.
Check out how it works in more detail in our Socket.io docs.
Another great integration to join the ranks, Swagger is an OpenAPI tool helpful in generating libraries in a variety of languages, creating documentation, performing testing (all automatically), and structuring API data.
Swagger’s strongest suit is filling the gaps and automating what’s not automated yet, and it’s basically an API framework a lot of devs love for its simplicity. It’ll be a fantastic addition to your no-code app development efforts.
Content Delivery Networkswe. Because I like it when stuff loads fast, wherever I am. Now configurable! You decide where bulky files should be stored, and which CDN will be doing the heavy lifting.
Just to share some numbers, CDNs will help you drive down average image loading time from 500 ms to 50 ms. Ten times the difference!
As much as we enjoy being a full-stack no-code app builder, sometimes you just must add your own touch to the whole thing. That’s why you can now add custom JS code on top of your project code. If hooking up metrics or support bots was a bit of a hassle before, not anymore.
A simple thing, yet so many of you asked for it. Now you can decide where your app is hosted! Take your pick from AWS in Ireland, the US, Canada, or Yandex.Cloud in Russia.
What you see is a summary of features we’ve been slowly (and quietly) adding to our platform. The work to make Directual one of the best no-code platforms never stops, and our community is the driving force behind that.
If you’ve got a question, would like to become a part of our community, or just want to say hi, shoot a message to hello@directual.com.
